PUTRAJAYA: The National Economic Council (NEC) exco members have yet to reach a decision on whether the managed float mechanism for fuel pricing would be implemented by the end of the month as earlier promised.
Last month, Shahrir said NEC exco members would be able to determine by the end of this month whether the managed float mechanism or the fuel floor price mechanism would be implemented.
"I am not very confident that this (announcement of a fuel pricing module by the end of the year) would be possible," he said yesterday in a telephone interview.
"It would take less than two months for us to reach a decision but as of this month, the discussion on this issue is not on the agenda."
